Workspace 03 — Launch OS

From rough idea to a launch-ready product story.

For indie founders, AI-native product teams and agencies shipping client products. One operating system that takes an idea through positioning, ICP & jobs-to-be-done, a messaging house, full landing-page copy, a 45-step launch plan, a written email sequence library — and the early-adopter feedback loop that decides what you build next.

✦ Launch brief generator

Assembles everything saved in this workspace — positioning canvas, statement, ICP, scored JTBDs, pillars, objection bank, landing inputs, feedback themes and plan progress — into one expert prompt that produces a complete, board-ready launch brief: narrative, channel plan, day-by-day calendar, metrics and risks.

How this workspace flows

Six moves, in order. Each one feeds the next — and everything feeds the generators.

01 · POSITION

Positioning Canvas

Alternatives, unique attributes, value & proof, category. One sentence that survives a hallway pitch.

02 · KNOW THE BUYER

ICP & JTBD

Who buys, what triggers them, and the jobs they are hiring you for — scored by opportunity.

03 · MESSAGE

Messaging House

Three value pillars with proof, a feature→benefit translator, and an objection bank.

04 · SHIP THE PAGE

Landing Page Copy

A complete landing wireframe assembled from your canvases — hero to FAQ, export-ready.

05 · RUN THE LAUNCH

Launch Plan + Emails

45 steps across pre-launch, launch week and post-launch, plus 11 fully written emails.

06 · LISTEN

Feedback Tracker

An early-adopter CRM and feedback log that synthesizes into your next roadmap decision.

Positioning Canvas April Dunford method

Positioning is the input to everything else in this workspace — messaging, landing copy, emails, the launch narrative. Fill it in the order below: alternatives first, category last. Be brutally specific; vague inputs produce vague launches.

The honest list. "Do nothing" and "hack it in ChatGPT" are usually your real competition.
The frame of reference. Pick the category where your strengths are table-stakes-plus, not table-stakes-minus.
One-line positioning statement

Fill the five slots — the statement renders live below. This exact sentence feeds the landing hero, the launch emails and every generator.

Ideal Customer Profile

Not a demographic sketch — a targeting instrument. Every field below is used verbatim by the interview-guide generator, the launch brief and the email personalizer.

Jobs to be Done — opportunity scoring

Format: “When {situation}, I want {motivation}, so I can {outcome}.” Score importance and current satisfaction 1–5 from interviews. Opportunity = importance + max(importance − satisfaction, 0) — over 12 is a wedge, under 8 is a distraction.

Value pillars — the roof rests on three

Each pillar: a claim (the pillar), the features that make it true, the benefit in customer language, and proof. Three is the number — two feels thin, four dilutes.

Pillar 3
Feature → benefit translator

Nobody buys features. Translate each one: feature → “which means you…”. Use these lines verbatim on the landing page and in onboarding emails.

Objection bank

Every objection you hear goes here with the agreed response. The bank feeds the landing FAQ, the last-chance email and the messaging generator. Aim for at least five before launch.

Landing page assembly

The hero, pillars and FAQ are pulled from your Positioning and Messaging canvases automatically. Fill the fields below (or hit Prefill from canvases), save, and the full wireframe renders underneath — ready to copy, export or punch up.

The 45-step launch plan

Three phases, forty-five checkboxes, each with the one-line “how”. Progress is saved per product. This is the same operating checklist used across a hundred indie and seed-stage launches — nothing here is optional busywork.

Launch email sequence library

Eleven fully written emails covering the whole arc — waitlist welcome, three-email warm-up, launch day, social-proof bump, last chance, a three-email onboarding drip and the day-30 win-back. Copy any of them into your ESP as-is, or hit ✦ Personalize to rewrite one around your saved canvases.

Merge fields used: {{first_name}} {{product}} {{one_liner}} {{founder_name}} {{launch_date}} {{deadline_date}} {{cta_url}} {{demo_url}} {{share_url}} {{discount}} {{signup_count}} {{user_quote}} {{quote_author}} — plus product-specific slots the personalizer fills for you.

Early adopters

Stored in the shared contact base used by every workspace (tagged early-adopter) — the same people show up in Executive Outreach if you graduate them to a sales motion.

Log feedback

Every bug report, pricing wince, feature ask and love note — one log, typed and themed. Themes are free text; keep them consistent (“Pricing model”, “Onboarding”) so the synthesis has something to count.
